Brighten up your home space by making my Crochet Daisy Coaster Pattern! These dainty chained petals are a throwback to the crochet daisy chain, making these coasters not only nostalgic but also cute and easy to make.

Simple crochet chain daisies were one of the first things I learned to crochet. As an homage to the humble chain daisy, I created this crochet daisy coaster! What I love about this crochet flower coaster is how distinct it looks compared to most other crochet daisy or flower coaster patterns.
The petals are short and can even pass for a crochet chamomile coasterโanother one of my favorite flowers. This means it can do double duty depending on your decor needs!
if you are looking to add a variety crochet flowers to your home decor, I do have crochet cherry blossom coasters and crochet flower coasters with 6 petals as patterns which would create a nice variety.
My crochet sunflower pillow pattern would also make for great floral decoration.

โ๏ธ Things To Note:
- Yarn Choice: I used cotton yarn for the crochet daisy coaster pattern and highly recommend it for this purpose. Avoid acrylic, as it doesn't absorb liquid well.
- Using Acrylic Yarn: If you do use acrylic, consider it for crochet flower appliques on blankets or pillows instead of coasters.
- Size: The finished flower crochet coaster is approximately 5 inches in diameter.
๐ญAbbreviations to Remember (US terms)
- Magic ring - mr
- Single crochet - sc
- Double crochet - dc
- Slip Stitch - sl st
- Increase - inc
๐ตInstructions for Crochet Daisy Coaster Pattern
The crochet daisy coaster pattern is made in rounds not rows.

Round 1: With the yellow yarn, make a mr then immediately ch x2 (counts as a stitch) and dc x11 into the ring. Then sl st to the top ch, this now counts as a dc (12).

Round 2: Ch x2, dc in the same stitch and then dc inc for the entire round. (24) Then sl st to the beginning chains.

Round 3: Ch x2 and then dc, dc inc for the entire round. (36) Then sl st to the beginning chains. Fasten off the yellow yarn and attach the white yarn.

Round 4: Now we will create the petals.

With your newly attached white yarn, ch x5 then sl st to the same stitch. Make 2 more sl st in the next 2 stitches. You just made your first petal base and gap between the petals. Repeat (ch x5, sl st in the same stitch, and then sl st in the next 2 stitches) for the rest of the round.

Round 5: Sc x6 into the first petals chain loop. Make sure not to crochet directly into the chain, crochet around it instead. After you make the single crochets, sl st into the next stitch. Repeat (sc x6 into the next petal and sl st into the next stitch) for the rest of the round.
Fasten off the yarn and weave in any ends.
Now you have a cute cheerful daisy crochet coaster! I hope you enjoyed it!

๐Expert Tips
- Petal Length: You can change the length of the petals by adding more chains in Round 4 or make them thicker by switching from single crochet to half double crochet or double crochet.
- Color Combinations: Experiment with different color combinations for the center and petals to match your home decor.
- Blocking: Consider blocking your coasters after finishing to ensure they lay flat and maintain their shape.
๐งตPattern FAQs
Do not fret! Although I do not recommend using anything but cotton for coasters, you can use it as a decorative piece for blankets, cardigans, etc.
It isnโt necessary, but if you feel it would help your crochet daisy coasters stay put on your desk, give it a shot!
Wool is a good alternative since it is heat resistant, water absorbent, and antimicrobial. However, cotton is still the best option in my opinion.

Aunt Honey says
Hi! I absolutely love your flower coaster patterns and am working on a mixed set for a very dear friend. I am confused on this one though. At the end of both rounds 2 and 3 it says to fasten off the yellow and switch to white. Should that happen only on round 3 or did I overlook something? Thank you!!!
Kimberly Arenas says
I fixed the pattern - only switch the colors after round 3. Thanks for catching my mistake!
