Brighten up your home space by making my Crochet Daisy Coaster Pattern. Dainty chained petals are a throwback to the crochet daisy chain, which makes these coasters not only nostalgic but cute and easy to make!
I used cotton yarn for the coasters, I only suggest cotton if used as a coaster. Do not use acrylic as it does not absorb liquid well.
If you do use acrylic, it can be used as a crochet flower applique on a blanket or pillow instead of as a coaster.
The finished flower crochet coaster is roughly 5 inches in diameter.
Instructions
This pattern is made in rounds not rows.
Round 1: With the yellow yarn, make a mr then immediately ch x2 (count as a stitch) and dc x11 into the ring. Then sl st to the top ch, this now counts as a dc (12).
Round 2: Ch x2, dc in the same stitch and then dc inc for the entire round. Then sl st to the beginning chains (24).
Round 3: Ch x2 and then dc, dc inc for the entire round. (36) Then sl st to the beginning chains. Fasten off the yellow yarn and attach the white yarn.
Round 4: Now we will create the petals. With your newly attached white yarn, ch x5 then sl st to the same stitch. Make 2 more sl st in the next 2 stitches. You just made your first petal base and gap between the petals. Repeat (ch x5, sl st in the same stitch, and then sl st in the next 2 stitches) for the rest of the round.
Round 5: Sc x6 into the first petals chain loop. Make sure not to crochet directly into the chain, crochet around it instead. After you make the single crochets, sl st into the next stitch. Repeat (sc x6 into the next petal and sl st into the next stitch) for the rest of the round.
Fasten off the yarn and weave in any ends.
Now you have a cute cheerful daisy crochet coaster! I hope you enjoyed it!
