Nothing says fall better than a crochet pumpkin spice latte made from my Crochet Coffee Cup Pattern. Snuggle your crochet latte while drinking the real thing for the ultimate autumn comfort.
I look forward to fall every year because of the seasonal coffee flavors that come with it—pumpkin spice being at the top of my list. As a blog that celebrates being over-caffeinated, I just had to create a crochet coffee cup pattern!
So, without further ado, I introduce my crochet pumpkin spice latte! This easy crochet cup pattern requires little fuss. You create the coffee sleeve as part of the cup, so the body of the crochet cup is made in one piece.
The crochet lid is made separately but is attached to the body of the cup. The only sewing you'll need to do is to attach the crochet pumpkin applique!

✏️ Things To Note:
- Yarn Options: I made this with partial skeins of Red Heart acrylic yarn. You can use partial skeins, new skeins, acrylic, cotton—whatever yarn you want! Chunky yarn can also be used for a larger, squishable crochet pumpkin spice latte. If you have extra orange yarn after this project, my Crochet Pumpkin Pattern with Leaves is an easy pumpkin-themed project that uses the same color yarn.
- Stuffing: I use polyfill as my stuffing. This is the most common type of stuffing for crochet toys, but some people use yarn scraps, cotton stuffing, and other alternatives.
- Finished Size: The finished size of the crocheted latte is roughly 6 inches high and 3 inches wide.

🍵Instructions for Crochet Coffee Cup Pattern
For the crochet latte pattern, we will mostly be working in rounds.
Round 1: Using white yarn, make a mr and make sc x6 in the circle. If you find it difficult making a magic ring you can chain 2 and then crochet sc x6 in the second chain from the hook. (6)
Round 2: Inc in every sc. (12)
Round 3: Inc, sc. Then repeat until end of round (18)
Round 4: Inc, sc x2. Then repeat until end of round (24)
Round 5: Inc, sc x3. Then repeat until end of round (30)
Round 6: Blo sc for the entire round (30) - This helps create a sharper edge between the cup bottom and sides.
Round 7-14: Sc for the entire round (30). After Round 14, switch the yarn color to brown.
Round 15-23: Sc for the entire round (30). After round 23, switch the yarn color back to white.
Round 24-28: Sc for the entire round (30). After the last round, fasten off the white yarn and weave in the end.
Crochet Coffee Lid Pattern:
Round 1: Using black yarn, make a mr and make sc x6 in the circle.
Round 7: Sc normally for the entire round. (30).
Round 8: This round we will be joining the lid to the cup by going through both the white and black stitches. There are 30 stitches in both the cup and lid at this point so they should fit together nicely. We will also increase while we crochet these two pieces together.
Inc, sc x4, repeat for the rest of the round. Remember to stuff the crochet coffee cup as you crochet the lid to the cup.
Round 9: In blo, make hdc for this entire round. The hdc will flip down to cover the edge of the cup. (36) Then fasten off the yarn and weave in the ends.
Crochet Pumpkin Applique Pattern:
Make a mr and make a sc, dc, tr x2, dc, sc, dc, tr x2, dc, and sl st into the ring and pull to close. Fasten off the yarn leaving a tail for sewing. If you want you can pinch the middle of the crochet pumpkin and sew it together so there is less of a gap in the middle, then sew the pumpkin applique to the brown part of the coffee cup. If you want you can take a small piece of green yarn and embroider a pumpkin stem to the top of the pumpkin.
And now you're finished with the coffee cup! Perfect for fall!

🐌Expert Tips
- Secure the Lid: If the crochet lid keeps flapping up, sew the hdc row down so it stays put.
- Sturdy Base: For a sturdier base, consider using a small circle of cardboard or felt to insert at the bottom before stuffing.
- Personalize Your Cup: If you want to customize your crochet cup, try adding a personalized label or name with embroidery.
- Color Variations: Experiment with different colors for the cup and lid to create a fun variety for gifting or decorating.
🧵Pattern FAQs
You can insert a piece of cardboard that fits the width of the top and bottom before and after stuffing the cup. Alternatively, you can take yarn and insert it through the center of the top of the cup and pull down. Just be careful not to overstuff the crochet cup.
You can use a heart, a skull for those who prefer “death before decaf,” or other small appliques instead of pumpkins.
Yes! Using chunky yarn will make the coffee cup roughly a foot tall, so adjust your hook size accordingly.
