A beary cute crochet coaster for any occasion! My Bear Coaster Crochet Pattern can be completed quickly and is unbearably cute to use daily!
This crochet bear coaster pattern is perfect for those that are new to crochet and are familiar with the foundational stitches. The bear crochet coaster is also perfect for last minute gifts for Christmas, housewarming gifts, baby showers etc. The crochet bear tea coaster or coffee coaster is also perfect for selling at markets or online if you wanted to sell the finished product (not the pattern of course).
The bear crochet coaster pattern uses cotton yarn. It is imperative that you use cotton yarn for coasters. Cotton yarn is a great fiber of choice because of how breathable it is, and absorbent.
I love working with cotton yarn and even have a few crochet patterns that use it like my Crochet Duck Hat Pattern, Crochet Strawberry Coaster Pattern, and Crochet Spa Set. Cotton yarn is great for summer hats, wash rags, and coasters because of the aforementioned qualities in its fiber.
If you are looking for other crochet house decoration patterns regardless of yarn type, I suggest a few decorative pillows like the Crochet Strawberry Pillow Pattern, or my Crochet Star Garland Pattern.
But if you are looking for another bear pattern, I also have this cute and very easy Crochet Bear Hat Pattern that can be worn in the colder months of the year.

Then we are going to make another ear.

dc, tr x4, and dc. Then skip the next stitch and immediately make a sl st in the following stitch.
After anchoring the ear follow the rest of the round:
Sc, sc inc, hdc, dc, dc inc, dc, hdc, hdc inc, sc x6, hdc inc, hdc, dc, dc inc, dc, hdc, sc inc, sl st to 1st sc in the round and fasten off. Then weave in any loose ends.
Embroidery:
Using the black yarn make little eyes on opposite sides of the tan circle (preferably in round 2) and then make an embroidered triangle nose in the top half of the tan circle from round 1. Make sure the embroidery isn't too thick, so the coaster lets cups lay flat and not wobble around.
And now your crochet bear coaster is done! I hope you enjoyed my bear coaster crochet pattern!
If you have leftover cotton yarn, you can make my Crochet Capybara Coaster Pattern since it uses the same yarn as the crochet bear coaster set.
🐌Expert Tips
If you want the back of the coaster to be less messy from the embroidery, slide the yarn underneath the stitches on the back of the coaster until you get to the next embroidery spot, so it is less noticeable on the back. Just make sure the yarn doesn't show on the front.
🧵Pattern FAQs
The best yarn for crocheting coasters is generally cotton because it is durable, absorbent, holds up well to heat, and is easy to wash.
Crochet coasters tend to curl if there is a variation in tension. Aim to maintain uniform stitch sizes for the best results.
Crochet coasters are equally effective as those made from cork, felt, stone, or other materials found in stores. The distinct advantage of crochet coasters is that they are handmade, offering a wider variety in design.
