Give a gift of peas this Valentine’s Day with my Crochet Peas in a Pod Pattern! A perfect tiny gift to your special someone to show you care.

Finished crochet peas in a pod.

I love food metaphors, and “we're like two peas in a pod” is my favorite because it perfectly describes my relationship with my husband. We share many qualities, likes, and dislikes while still being different. Plus, we love peas and grow them in our garden every year, so the pea pod holds sentimental value.

My crochet peas in a pod pattern is ideal for last-minute gifts because it is small, simple, and can be completed in about an hour. It consists of two small crochet balls and a little ovoid container for the peas.

So let's get started on the crochet pea pod pattern!

    ✏️ Things To Note:

    1. Yarn Choices: You can use the yarn skeins I listed, but since the crochet peas use very little material, you can opt for scrap yarn if you prefer.
    2. Yarn Type: Any type of yarn will work for this pattern. The crochet pea pod is about 4 inches in length; using blanket or chunky yarn will create a larger plush.
    3. Adding a Face: I added a face to my pea pod, but feel free to skip this step if you prefer!

    🪡 Materials Needed

    • Skein of Red Heart Soft Dark Leaf Yarn
    • Skein of Red Heart Soft Guacamole Yarn
    • 8mm safety eyes
    • 4.5mm hook
    • 5mm hook
    • Tapestry needle
    • Polyfill

    💭Abbreviations to Remember (US terms)

    • Magic ring - mr
    • Chain - ch
    • Single crochet - sc
    • Increase - inc
    • Decrease - dec

    🧋Variations

Since the crochet two peas in a pod pattern is meant to represent you and your significant other, personalize the two peas to reflect your personalities! You could add a heart, mustache, beard, lipstick, bows, glasses, etc., by embroidering the peas.

    Finishing:

Using your needle and yarn tail for sewing, sew the little ends of the pea pod closed so it creates a pea pod shape. Then add the peas to the pod and secure them by sewing them to the pea pod.

Do any embroidered embellishments to the peas at this time if you haven’t already.

And now you finished your crochet peas in a pod, a perfect little trinket to show someone you care about them.

    🐌Expert Tips

    • Read the Instructions Thoroughly: Before starting, read all the directions for crocheting the outside of the heart. Refer back to them while working on the crochet peas in a pod.
    • Color Choice: Choose contrasting colors for the peas and the pod to make your creation visually appealing.
    • Safety First: If you're making this as a gift for children or pets, ensure that all parts are securely attached and consider using embroidery for facial features instead of safety eyes.

    🧵Pattern FAQs
