Celebrate croissants by making my crochet croissant pattern! I promise you this is one croissant that won't leave crumbs all over your lap.

Fun fact about me: I used to be gluten free from age 13-24 because my body was rejecting gluten and treating it like an allergy. Apparently there is a high chance that it was stress induced - but now that I know how to handle my stress, my belly is completely fine when I eat it! Now all my favorite foods are ones that I couldn't enjoy when I was gluten free. Croissants being one of them!
I love croissants. So much so that I decided to make this cute amigurumi croissant pattern! This is also the first pattern I used using the yarn under technique when creating my stitches. I usually yarn over but as I try to make more plushies and amigurumiโs I am trying to adapt some of those techniques into my patterns.

โ๏ธ Things To Note:
- Yarn Under: This crochet croissant pattern is made by yarning under, if that is too hard for you, then you can do normal single crochet stitches by yarning over. Yarning under makes the stitches tighter so if you switch it to yarn over be aware that the proportions of the croissant might be off.
- Sewing: Each section of this crochet croissant pattern is made separately and sewn together. You may need pins or the little dowels to hold each piece in place as you sew it.
- Size: The finished amigurumi croissant is roughly 8 inches wide and 4 inches tall. If you use chunky yarn, then it will be much bigger.

Sewing:
Pin the croissant medium sections to the SIDES of the large section at the bottom. Once in a desired position, sew the middle sections to the large section. Make sure that you stuff these sections with polyfill before you are done sewing it closed.
After both sides are done, you can pin the small sections to the croissant.
Place the small sections at the bottom of the croissants sides, but have them just a little bit angled so they droop a little bit. This is a subtle curve that helps give the croissant its iconic shape. Sew and fill.
After both sides are done, the main body of the croissant is finished!
Sew on the beret at an angle at the top of the croissants head.
Add the mustache 2 stitches down from the safety eyes. You want to have the mustache centered as best as you can.
After everything is sewn together, the crochet croissant is finished!

๐Expert Tips
- When stuffing the amigurumi croissant, make sure you aren't over stuffing it otherwise it can get out of shape.
- Since the eyes aren't placed in the same round in the crochet croissant pattern, you want to make sure that they are aligned as best you can so the face is straight when the croissant is finished.
- We use 2 different crochet hooks in the crochet croissant pattern. One for the croissant and then a smaller hook for the mustache and the top of the beret. The smaller hook is used because it keeps the stitches tight and the shape is easier to see.
๐งตPattern FAQs
Absolutely! If you choose to make the crochet candy corn pattern in chunky yarn just make sure to change the hook size.
Insert your hook like normal, then instead of having the yarn go over the hook and pulling up a loop, you go behind the hook and under โthen pull up a loop and complete the rest of the stitch like normal.
Crochet is a broad term where you can practically make anything in 2D or 3D with yarn and a crochet hook. Amigurumi are 3D stuffed animals/food/other objects that have a whimsical and cute aesthetic.
