This crochet burger and fries pattern is the perfect way to bring a bit of summer to your yarn stash! The crochet food will be perfect for pretend play and will be amazing for playing “restaurant” with the kiddos!

Designed with beginners in mind, this crochet hamburger and crochet fries design is quick to make and perfect for beginners and advanced crocheters alike. As long as you know how to crochet in the round with increases and decreases you should be able to complete this project. I will say to just watch out when you are making the buns because they start out increasing by 6 stitches a round, but when I decrease them I do it by 8 stitches. I like decreasing the crochet burger buns by 8 because it is actually more flat versus round in this scenario.
The crochet french fries are incredibly easy to make - no crocheting in the round for these tiny things! Working in the round for such a small project tends to hurt my hands, so instead for the pattern you slip stitch a few rows and then sew it into a tube. Much easier on the hands!
If you really like this crochet fast food pattern and are looking for more crochet food patterns to try out check out my crochet dumpling pattern and crochet bao pattern! A perfect little addition to any crochet play food set. I also have a crochet onigiri pattern if you want rice balls. And then you can take my crochet strawberry keychain pattern and turn it into tiny strawberries for a side of fruit instead of making it as a keychain.

🐌Expert Tips
- Use a smaller hook for tighter stitches: To keep your stuffing from showing through, go down a hook size from what your yarn recommends. This gives your crochet burger a neater finish.
- Stuff as you go: Don’t wait until the end to add stuffing. Gently stuff your crochet burger as you work, especially once the shape starts to close, to avoid lumps or uneven filling.
- Use stitch markers: Since the crochet burger pattern is mostly worked in the round, it’s easy to lose track of where a round begins. A stitch marker will keep you on track and help your rounds stay even.
🧵Pattern FAQs
Worsted weight acrylic or cotton yarn is commonly used because it's affordable, durable, and comes in a wide range of colors. However, plush or velvet yarn is great if you want a softer, chunkier plushie. Choose yarn based on the texture and size you want.
Use a hook that’s one or two sizes smaller than the recommended size for your yarn. This ensures tight stitches so the stuffing doesn’t show through.
Spot clean with mild soap and water. If machine washing, place the plushie in a mesh laundry bag and use the gentle cycle. Always let it air dry.
