My Crochet Camel Stitch Infinity Scarf is so beautiful and almost gives a knitted look. Make yourself this crochet infinity scarf to keep warm for the winter.
I love being extra cozy in winter. There’s something uniquely comforting about stepping out into the crisp, cold air while wrapped in layers of shawls, jackets, and scarves.
The chill of winter can be invigorating, but it’s the warmth of those layers that truly brings a sense of comfort and security. Being enveloped by these protective garments feels like a warm, weighted shield against the harsh elements.
Crochet infinity scarves are just as easy to make as regular scarves. You have the flexibility to create one in two ways: by crafting a traditional scarf and sewing the ends together or by working it in the round, as I do here. You can turn some of my traditional scarves into infinity scarves like my crochet plaid scarf and crochet houndstooth scarf by sewing the ends together.
Working in the round not only simplifies the process but also gives the scarf a seamless look. This allows for endless styling options that keep you warm and fashionable all season long.

✏️ Things To Note:
- Yarn Choice. I used a wool/acrylic blend yarn for the crochet camel stitch infinity scarf, but you can use any type of yarn you prefer for this pattern: acrylic, wool, cotton, etc.
- Stitch Technique. While the camel stitch may look intimidating, it's actually easy to create. If you can make half double crochets, you can master the camel stitch, as it involves working half double crochets in the third loop, also known as the hump.
- Finished Measurements. The finished crochet infinity scarf measures about 5 feet in circumference and 7–8 inches wide—perfect for wrapping loosely around your neck twice!
🪡 Materials Needed
- About 750 yards of any type of yarn you would like to use.
- Size 10mm hook
- Tapestry or darning needle for weaving in the ends.
💭 Abbreviations to Remember (US Terms)

🧋 Variations
To add some fun variety to your scarf, consider these options:

🐌Expert Tips
- Choose the Right Yarn: For a softer and more comfortable scarf, opt for a yarn blend that includes alpaca or bamboo. These fibers can add warmth without being too heavy or itchy.
- Swatch First: If you're unsure about how the camel stitch will look with your chosen yarn, make a small swatch first. This will give you an idea of how the stitch behaves and help you decide if you want to make any adjustments.
- Blocking for Neatness: After finishing your scarf, consider blocking it to enhance the stitch definition. Soaking it in lukewarm water, gently shaping it, and allowing it to dry flat can make a big difference.
- Wear It in Different Styles: Infinity scarves can be styled in various ways! Try wrapping it twice for extra warmth or letting it drape loosely for a more casual look.
🧵 Pattern FAQs
While the texture of the stitches may get lost with variegated yarn, you could use ombre yarn that has a slow fade, or solid colors would also work well.
Of course! Just use a smaller hook and adjust the starting chain accordingly.
If your chain twists and it's difficult to keep it straight, you can work the hdc round as a row and then join the ends before starting the camel stitches. Just remember to sew the two pieces together afterward for better attachment.
