What is a Crochet Bean Stitch?
The bean stitch is similar to a puff stitch, but without the first yarn-over. Instead, you pull up 6 loops on the hook by making a single crochet (sc), a half double crochet (hdc), and another hdc in the same stitch without going through any of the loops at the end. After creating these 3 stitches, you will have 6 loops on the hook. Then, you go through all the loops and immediately make a chain to secure the stitch closed.

- Yarn Choice: For this scarf, I used a wool/acrylic blend yarn, but you can choose any yarn that suits you, such as acrylic, wool, cotton, or even a combination of them. The yarn you pick will influence the texture and warmth of your scarf, so feel free to experiment with what you like best.
- Stitch Simplicity: The bean stitch may seem tricky at first glance, but it’s surprisingly simple to master. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll find the stitch has a lovely texture that adds a unique touch to your project. With a bit of practice, you’ll be able to create a beautiful, textured scarf in no time.

- About 750 yards of any type of yarn you would like to use.
- Size 7mm hook
- Tapestry or darning needle for weaving in the ends.

- Chains (ch)
- Bean Stitch (bs)
- Yarn over (yo)
* The ch x1 at the end of each row does not count as a stitch in the row, it is a turning chain.
* If you see a stitch abbreviation with "x" after it, it means how many times you do that stitch in the following amount of stitches. For example: sc x6 would mean you make a single crochet in the next 6 stitches. Inc x2 means you make an inc in the next 2 stitches

🍵 Instructions for Crochet Bean Stitch Infinity Scarf
This pattern is made in rows.
Row 1: Ch x25 and turn.
Row 2: In the second ch from the hook make a bs.
To make a bean stitch (bs), insert hook into the ch, then yo and pull up a loop ( 2 loops on hook). Then, yo and insert a hook into the same ch and pull up a loop (4 loops). Next, yo and insert a hook into the ch and pull up a loop (6 loops).
Then yo and pull through all the loops.
Immediately make a ch.
Skip the next ch and repeat the above process for making another bean stitch. Repeat for the rest of the row.
The last stitch in the second row was a ch to secure the last bean stitch. From here, make another ch as this is your turning ch. Essentially you will be doing 2 chains at the end of each row. 1 for securing the bean stitch and 1 for turning.
Row 3: Skip the first stitch (the stitch that secured the bean), and stitch directly into the below bean stitch.
For the rest of the row, skip the ch stitches and work directly into the bean stitch.
At the end of the row, ch x1 and turn.
Row 4-150: Repeat row 3. Make longer or shorter if needed. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Sewing: Sew the two ends of the crochet infinity scarf together and then weave in tails.

That's perfectly fine and it will end up being a similar texture.
