Make a set of apple coasters with my Crochet Apple Coaster Pattern. It would make for a perfect crochet gift for teachers or fall decor.
My son is starting kindergarten this year, and up until a few weeks ago, I had no idea what to give his teacher! We love gifting teachers small presents to show our appreciation for all the hard work they do—because it truly takes the patience of a saint some days!
Normally, we give coffee gift cards to our son’s teachers, but this year I wanted to crochet something special (along with a coffee gift card). These apple coasters make a great gift because they can be used every day.
If you aren't planning to use the apple coasters as gifts for teachers, they can also serve as a lovely fall crochet pattern for your home decor. We don’t want pumpkins to hog all the spotlight!
In case you’re looking for other fall crochet coaster patterns, I also have a Crochet Pumpkin Coaster Pattern available.
As a bonus, if you want to make a crochet teacher gift but don’t want to create coasters, consider my Crochet Planets and Solar System Play Set for some fun modeling of our solar system.

🐌Expert Tips
- Hiding Yarn Ends: To hide the yarn between the apple seeds, weave the yarn in between the stitches as you make the embroidered apple seeds.
- Blocking: Consider blocking your coasters after completing them to enhance their shape and prevent curling.
- Customization: Feel free to experiment with different colors and designs to create a unique set of coasters!
🧵Pattern FAQs
Cotton yarn! Cotton yarn is the best overall yarn to use for coasters because it is lightweight, durable, heat resistant, and absorbent.
It isn’t necessary, but if you feel like it would help your crochet coasters from slipping around, feel free!
They curl due to varying tension in your stitches. Keep your stitches uniform by maintaining consistent tension on your hook and yarn throughout the project.
