✏️ Things To Note:
- Yarn Choice: I made the crochet eyes with acrylic yarn as it's what I had on hand but this project can be completed with any type of yarn. Cotton, acrylic, and chunky yarn are the yarns I would highly suggest though. If you use chunky yarn it will be quite enormous.
- Finished Size: The finished size of the eyeball plush is about 3 inches in diameter using a 5mm hook size, excluding the nerve.
- Color Options: I made the eye blue, but you can change the color to any color.
🪡 Materials Needed
- Yarn colors: 1 small amount of black, small ball of blue or whatever you want for the eye color, white, and red.
- H hook (5mm)
- Tapestry needle for weaving in the ends and sewing pieces together
- Polyfill
💭 Abbreviations to Remember (US Terms)
- Magic ring (MR)
- Chains (ch)
- Single crochet (sc)
- Increase (inc) - 2 stitches in the same stitch
- Decrease (dec) - 1 stitch in 2 stitches
🧋 Variations
Change the eye color for an assortment of different eyes!

Attach red yarn to the back of the eyeball and make 11 chains. Then in the second chain from the hook make a sc. Inc,sc for the entire chain until you get to the end near the eyeball.
Make a sc into the eyeball attaching it again to the white ball part.
Then surface crochet 3-6 sc outward from the center.
After you surface crochet the amount you like fasten off and leave a tail for embroidering the little veins in the eye.
After that, reattach the yarn to the bottom of the main nerve at the bottom and repeat the 3-6 surface crochets. Fasten off and leave a tail for embroidering the veins.
You will repeat this step 6 more times.
Once all 8 surface crochet lines are done, grab your tapestry needle and embroider lines for the smaller veins in the eye.
Weave in all the loose ends and your eye is done!
If you would like to have the split yarn at the end of the eye nerve, weave one of the tail ends of the red yarn to the very end tip of the nerve and pull it through. Make sure the yarn is about 2-3 inches. Then unwind the yarn and leave it frayed.
