This crochet rose keychain pattern just screams spring and summer! This crochet rose is easy to make and takes less than 30 minutes to complete.

I have been on a flower kick recently and this rose crochet keychain is one of my newer patterns! I was inspired to make one after making a crochet rose granny square pattern, a crochet daisy keychain pattern and a crochet sunflower keychain pattern a few weeks ago. I already had a crochet tulip keychain pattern from a few years ago, so I thought to myself why not a rose?
What I like about the crochet rose is how easy it is to complete - it’s just 2 rows of crochet and then rolled up and sewn at the bottom. The leaves are even quicker than the rose and the whole project takes less than 30 minutes to make. Making it a perfect addition to markets if you wanted to sell any finished product (please do not sell the pattern).
Not only is this a great crochet keychain pattern, but the rose keychain can also be a great crochet rose applique, just forgo the keychain and sew to any blanket or project you want!
Now that I have enticed you to make a crochet rose keychain or two, let's get started on making one!

🍵Instructions for Crochet Rose Keychain Pattern
How to crochet a rose keychain:
The crochet rose keychain pattern is made in rows.

With the yarn for the petals, ch x36.

Row 1: In the 6th ch from the hook make a (dc, ch x2 and dc). *Skip the next 2 chains in the foundation chain, and in the following stitch make a (dc, ch x2 and dc).

Repeat from * for the rest of the foundation chain length. There should be 11 V stitches.
Ch x3 and turn.

Row 2: Dc x5 into the next ch-2 space. This will be the center of the rose flower. Make a sl st into the next space, between the V stitches.

*Dc x6 into the next ch-2 space, sl st into the next space between the V stitches. Repeat from * 5 times total.
*Dc x9 into the next ch-2 space, sl st into the next space between the V stitches. Repeat from * 5 times total.

Fasten off the yarn and leave a 10-12inch tail for sewing. Thread the yarn needle with the tail you just made and with the right side of the crochet work facing you, and beginning with the first petal made roll the rose up from the foundation chain. Once the foundation chain creates a spiral, sew the rose to secure it.
Crochet Leaves:
Make 2x leaves.

With the green yarn, ch x9.
Follow this sequence of stitches, starting in the second ch from the hook: sl st, sc, hdc, dc x2, hdc, sc, sl st. You should be at the end of the chain. Now make a chain and flip to the unworked side of the foundation chain. Follow the sequence again: sl st, sc, hdc, dc x2, hdc, sc, sl st. Then fasten off the yarn and leave a tail for sewing.

Sew the 2 leaves to the back of the rose keychain, I chose to sew them 90 degrees from the keyring. I also added the keyring directly into the top of one of the crochet petals after sewing.
Weave in the ends and the rose crochet keyring is completed! I hope you enjoyed making this crochet rose pattern!
If you have any leftover yarn, you can make the crochet flower keychain pattern as a smaller and more simplified flower for other keychain options. Or if you want to create some garden companions you can make my crochet ladybug pattern or my crochet frog pattern.

🐌Expert Tips
- Try and keep your tension throughout the crochet rose keychain consistent for best results.
- If you are having trouble sewing the bottom of the rose together, you can always sew as you go instead of fully rolling up the crochet flower before starting to sew.
- If you are struggling putting the keyring onto the crochet rose petal, you can see if pliers help open and close the keyring or try and attach it with extra yarn.
🧵Pattern FAQs
Use thinner yarn and a smaller hook than the pattern calls for.
