It’s fall! And what better way to celebrate than with a cup of coffee decorated with my beautiful crochet pumpkin cup cozy pattern! To heighten the fall spirit, pair it with a psl latte!

I love coffee. Hence my name “The Caffeinated Snail”. Always caffeinated all the time. I think at this point I drink more coffee then any other beverage, which is probably a bad thing but I honestly love the taste so much! If you get really good coffee beans, trust me all you need is a good cup of black coffee without cream and sugar (but I honestly love both!)
As a caffeine enthusiast I made sure when I started crocheting patterns to include some caffeinated themed patterns like my crochet coffee cup plushie and coasters. I really enjoy all of my crochet coasters but to fit this season I rotate my crochet pumpkin coaster, crochet ghost coaster, and my crochet spider coaster.
I realized that I didn’t have a crochet cup cozy pattern on my blog, but now I can say I have one! I loved making this crochet pumpkin coffee cozy and I will probably make more in the future! And I already have some ideas for Christmas!
So if your ready, lets begin crocheting this super simple crochet coffee cozy pattern!

✏️ Things To Note:
- Yarn type: I am using cotton for the crochet pumpkin cup cozy pattern. Cotton is a great material to use because it is heat resistant and absorbs water, unlike acrylic. This makes it safe and useable for both hot and cold drinks.
- Time to complete: This crochet pumpkin cup cozy pattern is very quick to make and you can have one made in under an hour.
- Ribbed effect: This crochet pumpkin cup cozy pattern uses a ribbed effect to create different segments for a pumpkin. It is just making single crochet stitches in the back loop, making this pattern beginner friendly!

* The ch x1 at the end of each row does not count as a stitch in the row, it is a turning chain.
* If you see a stitch abbreviation with "x" after it, it means how many times you do that stitch in the following amount of stitches. For example: sc x6 would mean you make a single crochet in the next 6 stitches. Inc x2 means you make an inc in the next 2 stitches.
🍵Instructions for Crochet Pumpkin Cup Cozy Pattern
This crochet pumpkin coffee cozy pattern is made in rows.

Row 1: With the orange yarn, ch x12, then in the second ch from the hook make a sc. Continue making sc for the rest of the row (11). Then ch x1 and turn.
Row 2-24: In blo, sc x11 (11). Then Ch x1 and turn. At the end of the round fasten off and then sew the rectangle shut so it becomes a continuous circle.
Crochet Stem:

With the brown yarn, ch x5 then in the second ch from the hook make a hdc. Continue making hdc stitches for the rest of the ch length. Then fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Crochet Leaf and Vine:

Make a mr and then sc x6 into the circle - do not join the round. Instead ch x1 and turn.
hdc + dc +tr in the 1st stitch, dc + sl st + hdc + dc in the 2nd stitch, tr + ch +tr in the 3rd stitch, dc + hdc + sl st + dc in the 4th stitch, tr + dc + hdc + ch in the 5th stitch, sl st in the 6th stitch.
After making the sl st in the last stitch, ch x15.
In the second chain from the hook sc inc. Continue making sc inc in each chain. This will cause the chain to become curly.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Sewing:
Sew the stem anywhere on the top of the cozy, then sew the pumpkin leaf and vine on top next to the stem.

🐌Expert Tips
- It's always a good idea to have a standard “to-go coffee cup” around so you can make sure the cup cozy isn't too big or too small.
- While you could use acrylic for this pattern, just know that if you use it for cold drinks the acrylic wont pick up the condensation very well.
- If you are going to make a bunch of these for markets, you can batch make them by making the pumpkin part first for like 20 of them, then move onto the stems and then the leaves. Finally assembling them all at once after all the pieces have been made.
🧵Pattern FAQs
Yes! They are practical because they actually work - they protect your hand from the heat or cold so you do not feel any discomfort while drinking your drink.
Yes! But be wary that the overall finished look will be altered.
No, you do not need full skeins, just a few yards of each color! You will need a bit of orange to make a cozy but probably only 25 yards at most.
