Turn basic crochet round coasters into watermelons with my Watermelon Crochet Coaster Pattern. The crochet watermelon coasters are a fun way to celebrate summer, especially for those ice cold summer drinks!
Use cotton yarn for the crochet watermelon coaster pattern; acrylic can be used for a cute watermelon applique for non-absorbent items.
This pattern is ideal for beginners, as it’s worked in the round and consists of only 5 rounds.
The finished crochet watermelon coaster is about 4.5 inches wide; adjust the hook size for different dimensions.
Instructions
The watermelon crochet coaster pattern is made in rounds.

Round 4: After joining the white, sc inc, sc x2 and repeat for the rest of the round (48). Sl st to the beginning sc. Then fasten off the white yarn and switch it to the green.
Round 5: After joining the green yarn, sc in every stitch from the last round (48). Then fasten off the green yarn and weave in any ends.
Embroidery:
Using the black yarn and tapestry needle, create little watermelon seeds in the pink part of the watermelon. I made 8 seeds around round 2 but you can do it anyway you want.
And now you have your very own crochet watermelon coaster! Perfect to use for those nice cold summer drinks like tea and lemonade.
