Crochet Strawberry Keychain Pattern

Materials
Abbreviations (US terms)
- mr = Magic ring
- ch = Chain
- sc = Single crochet
- inc = Increase
- dec = Decrease
Notes
- Use scrap yarn for mini crochet strawberries; any yarn type works.
- Worsted weight yarn is recommended for the crochet strawberry keychain pattern; larger yarn (size 5 or above) results in a bigger keychain.
- Crochet fruit keychain measures no bigger than 2 inches.
- Change yarn and colors freely; add a face for an amigurumi strawberry keychain.
Instructions
Crochet Strawberry:
- The pattern is made in the round.
- Round 1: Make a mr and make sc x6 in the circle. If you find it difficult making a magic ring you can chain 2 and then crochet sc x6 in the second chain from the hook. (6)
- Round 2: Sc in every stitch. (6)
- Round 3: Inc in every sc. (12)
- Round 4: Sc in every stitch. (12)
- Round 5: Inc, sc, and then repeat until end of round. (18)
- Round 6-8: Sc in every stitch. (18)
- Round 9: Dec, sc, and then repeat until end of round. (12)
- Round 10: Dec and then repeat until end of round. (6) Fasten off and weave in the tails.
- With the white yarn and tapestry needle, create little white embroidered seeds all over the strawberry.
Crochet Stem and Leaves:
- This part of the pattern is made in the round.
- Round 1: Using the green yarn, make a magic ring, then sc x5 into the center of it, slip stitch to the first stitch and pull the mr tight. (5)
- Round 2: *Ch x4. In the second chain from the hook make a sc, then sc 2 more times in the other 2 chains.Attach with a slip stitch to the next stitch in the mr. Repeat from * for the rest of the round. You should end up with 5 leaves.
- Sew leaves to the top of the strawberry.
- To make the mini strawberry crochet pattern into a keychain, you want to join the green yarn back at the top of the strawberry, right where the magic ring was made.
- Ch x7, cut the yarn with 5 inches of yarn left. Then string the keyring onto the chains, insert your hook back into the last chain and secure the loop back to the top of the strawberry with a sl st.
- Weave in any loose ends. And now your crochet strawberry keychain is finished!
