Crochet Lemon Pattern

Materials
- A small ball of lemon yellow yarn from Red Heart
- A smidge of spring green yarn from Red Heart

Notes
- Yarn Choice: I used acrylic yarn for this crochet lemon pattern. You can also use cotton and even chunky yarn for the pattern if you want to make a giant lemon. I would stay away from wool unless you are okay with it shrinking after washing.
- Basic Stitches: The base of the pattern only calls for single crochet (sc). Nothing fancy as far as other stitches go, so if you can single crochet, you can make this crochet lemon pattern! If you want to make the leaf, there are a few extra stitches involved, such as chains, Half Double Crochet (hdc), Double Crochet (dc), and Treble Crochet (tr). Making amigurumi or crocheted stuffed toys is actually quite simple!
- Tight Stitches: If you have trouble keeping your stitches tight, try yarning under instead of yarning over during a single crochet. This creates a naturally tighter stitch. It might take some time to adjust to this method, but many amigurumi enthusiasts recommend yarning under.
Instructions
- For the crochet lemon pattern, we will mostly be working in rounds.
Lemon Pattern:
- Round 1: Using yellow yarn, make a mr and sc x6 into the circle. If you find it difficult to make a mr you can ch x2 and then sc x6 into the second chain from the hook (6).
- Round 2: Sc x6 (6).
- Round 3: Inc in every sc (12).
- Round 4: Inc, sc. Then repeat until end of round (18).
- Round 5: Inc, sc x2. Then repeat until end of round (24).
- Round 6: Inc, sc x3. Then repeat until end of round (30).
- Round 7-17: Sc x30 (30).
- Round 18: Dec, sc x3. Then repeat until the end of round (24) Start to stuff the lemon.Round 19: Dec, sc x2. Then repeat until the end of round (18).Round 20: Dec, sc. Then repeat until the end of round (12).Round 21: Dec, and repeat until the end of round (6).
- Round 22: Sc x6 (6). Fasten off and sew the lemon shut.
- Turn sideways to admire your lemon.
Leaf Pattern:
- With the green yarn, ch x6.In the second chain from the hook make a sl st. Then sc, hdc, sc, sl st. Ch x1 and turn to the other side of the unworked chain. Sl st, sc, hdc, sc, sl st. Then fasten off the yarn and leave a tail for sewing.You can make 1-2 of these and sew it to one end of the lemon.
