My Crochet Concha Pattern is based off of Mexican concha bread, but with a bunny twist. Concha bread always looks so beautiful to eat, but here is a version you can keep forever!
1small ballof frosting color - pink, white, yellow, brown
Abbreviations (US terms)
mr = Magic ring
ch = Chain
sc = Single crochet
inc = Increase
dec = Decrease
Notes
Use any yarn, noting the recommended hook size. The pattern offers two frosting methods for versatility—either create it in one piece or as multiple smaller pieces. The finished concha size is approximately 5 inches long and 3.5 inches high, with variations based on yarn and hook size. While the pattern doesn't allow many variations, you can customize the icing color or transform the bunny into a different baked good, such as a cinnamon roll, by adding a chain swirl to the top.

Concha topping:
There are 2 ways to make the topping:
1st way: (Easiest but more sewing)
Row 1: Make various chain lengths (anywhere between 2 and 14 chains)
Row 2: Inc in the second chain from the hook, sc any chains in the middle and do an inc in the last chain.
Make about 5-6 pieces in various lengths and arrange them in a slight curved orientation on the top of the crochet bun.
2nd way: (Harder, but less sewing)
Row 1: Ch x21.
Row 2: In second ch from hook make a sc and then sc x19 for the rest of the row. Ch x1 and turn.
Row 3: Sc once in the next row then immediately ch x15.
Row 4: In the second ch from hook, make a sc and then sc x14. Ch x1 and turn.
Row 5: Sc once in the next row then immediately ch x11.
Row 6: Starting in the second ch from the hook, sc x9 and dec the last 2 stitches. Ch x1 and turn.
Row 7: Sc once in the next row then immediately ch x6.
Row 8: In the second ch from the hook, sc x5, then decrease along the entire edge made by previous rows (dec x4). Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Tiny piece of icing:
Row 1: Ch x3, and turn.
Row 2: In the second ch from hook make an inc, then make an inc in the last stitch. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Sewing:
Arrange the icing and pin to the crochet concha. Then sew the icing to the bunny. Sew on the tail and then sew on the ears.
Embroider the eyes and mouth if you would like.
And once everything is sewn together, you now have a crochet concha bunny!
