Instructions
Crochet Tree Pattern:
Row 1: Ch 2 and turn
Row 2: In the second chain from the hook make an increase. (2) Ch 1 and turn. Do not work in the turning chains. Always skip those.
Row 3: Sc x2 (2). Ch 1 and turn
Row 4: Inc x2 (4). Ch 1 and turn
Row 5: Sc x4 (4). Ch 1 and turn
Row 6: Inc, sc x2, inc (6). Ch 1 and turn
Row 7: Sc x6 (6). Ch 1 and turn
Row 8: Inc, sc x4, inc (8). Ch 1 and turn
Row 9: Sc x8 (8). Ch 1 and turn
Row 10: Inc, sc x6, inc (10). Ch 1 and turn
Row 11: Sc x10 (10). Ch 1 and turn
Row 12: Inc, sc x8, inc (12). Ch 1 and turn
Row 13: Sc x12 (12). Ch 1 and turn
Row 14: Inc, sc x10, inc (14). Ch 1 and turn
Row 15: Sc x14 (14). Ch 1 and turn
Row 16: Inc, sc x12, inc (16). Ch 1 and turn
Border:
We will now go around the sides of the tree. The rule of thumb is 1 stitch per row you made on the raw edges.
Ch x2, dc in the same stitch you left off. Then hdc, sc x2, sl st in the next few rows. Ch x2, dc, hdc, sc x2, sl st, ch x2, dc, hdc, sc x2, sc inc at the top of the tree to turn to the other side of the crochet tree. Sc x2, hdc, dc, ch x2, sl st, sc x2, hdc, dc, ch x2, sl st, sc x2, hdc, dc, and finally sl st to the 1st stitch in row 16.Then fasten off and weave in any ends.
Crochet Tree Trunk:
Skip 4 stitches on the bottom row and join your brown yarn, then sc x8 across the bottom row, you should have 4 stitches at the end of the row untouched.
Ch x1 and turn. Then sc x8. After, fasten off your yarn and weave in any ends.
Crochet Christmas Tree Star:
If this star pattern is too round for your liking, check out my Crochet Tooth Fairy Pattern. It has a similar sized star pattern but is sharper and less rounded.Round 1: With the yellow yarn, make a mr and sc x5 into the circle. Then pull the circle tight.
Round 2: In each stitch make a sl st, dc, and another sc. Fasten off the yarn and leave a tail for sewing.Note: You might need to squish and mold the star with your fingers.
Sew the star to the top of the tree.
