Instructions
This crochet Sunflower keychain pattern is made in the round.
Crochet Flower Middle:
Make x2.
Round 1: Using the brown yarn, make a mr and sc x6 into the circle. If you find it difficult making a magic ring you can chain 2 and then crochet sc x6 in the second chain from the hook. (6)
Round 2: Inc in every sc. (12)
Round 3: Inc, sc. Then repeat until the end of round (18).
Round 4: Inc, sc x2. Then repeat until the end of round (24).
Fasten off the brown yarn and weave in the ends.
Crochet Flower Petals:
We will be crocheting both brown circles together to create the flower petals, so make sure the right side of the circles are facing outward.
Round 5: Join your yellow yarn anywhere, just be sure that you are going through both circles. * Next ch x2. In the following stitch: Dc, ch x2, sl st into the second ch from the hook, and then make a dc back into the same stitch you made the first dc. Then ch x2 and make a sl st into the next stitch on the circle.
Repeat from * for the rest of the round. Make sure you stuff the flower middle with polyfill before you crochet it shut.
Once you are done, fasten off the yarn and leave a tail for adding the keyring.
Add the keyring to the yarn end, then secure the yarn where you left off and weave in the end. Make sure you secure the yarn well so the keyring won’t come off.
Crochet Leaves:
Make 2x leaves.
With the green yarn, ch x9. Follow this sequence of stitches, starting in the second ch from the hook: sl st, sc, hdc, dc x2, hdc, sc, sl st. You should be at the end of the chain. Now make a chain and flip to the unworked side of the foundation chain. Follow the sequence again: sl st, sc, hdc, dc x2, hdc, sc, sl st. Then fasten off the yarn and leave a tail for sewing.
Sew the 2 leaves to the back of the sunflower keychain, I chose to sew them 90 degrees from the keyring.
Weave in the ends and the sunflower crochet keyring is completed! I hope you enjoyed making this crochet sunflower keychain pattern!
