Crochet Mitten Ornament Pattern

Instructions
Crochet Thumb:
- Round 1: With red yarn make a mr, then sc x6 into the ring. Then sl st to the first sc to close the circle and pull tight.
- Round 2-4: Sc in every stitch (6). At the end of the last round fasten off the yarn and weave in any ends.
Crochet Hand:
- Round 1: With red yarn make a mr, then sc x6 into the ring. Then sl st to the first sc to close the circle and pull tight.
- Round 2: Inc in every stitch (12).
- Round 3: Inc, sc x1. Repeat for the rest of the round (18).
- Round 4-9: Sc in every stitch (18).
- Round 10: This round we will crochet the thumb and base together. Start by crocheting a sc into one of the stitches from the thumb. Now the thumb and hand pieces are connected. Then sc 5 more times on the thumb piece and connect the thumb and hand on the other side by crocheting a sc in the next available stitch on the hand. Then sc the rest of the round (24).
- Round 11: Sc, dec x2, sc x8, dec, sc x8 (21).
- Round 12: Sc in every stitch (21).
- Round 13: Sc, dec, sc x18 (20).
- Round 14: Sc, dec, sc x17 (19). Then fasten off the red yarn and join the white yarn.
- Round 15-16: Sc x19 (19).
- Loop: Ch x10 and then make a sl st to the stitch you just made the chains from. Fasten off and weave in any ends.
- Embroidery: With a long piece of white yarn and your needle, make a unique snowflake design on the top by making an X and a + sign on top of each other. Then if you want you can add a few small dots of embroidery on the edges of the snowflake.
