Welcome to this festive and fun crochet mini Christmas stocking pattern! This classic red stocking with a fuzzy white top border is the perfect way to add a personal touch to your holiday décor.
Size and Fit: This crochet Christmas stocking is designed to hold small gifts like gift cards, candy canes, or tiny trinkets. If you want a larger stocking, consider adjusting the stitch count or yarn thickness.
Yarn Choice: For the best results, use a medium-weight yarn for the stocking body (like worsted weight) and a fuzzy yarn for the top border to achieve that cozy, wintery look.
Skill Level: This pattern is perfect for beginners! The easy crochet Christmas stocking ornament uses basic stitches and is great for anyone looking to create something quick and cute.
Instructions
The pattern for the crochet mini Christmas stocking pattern will be in rounds, with a few rows for the heel.
Round 1: With red yarn make a mr, then sc x6 into the ring. Then sl st to the first sc to close the circle and pull tight.
Round 2: Inc in every stitch (12).
Round 3: *Inc and then in the next stitch make a sc. Repeat from * for the rest of the round (18).
Round 4: *Inc and then in the next 2 stitches make a sc. Repeat from * for the rest of the round (24).
Round 5-13: Sc in every stitch (24).
Row 14: Sc x12, then ch x1 and turn (12). We are working the heel now so do not make rounds.
Row 15-18: Repeat row 14 (12).
Row 19: Sc x5, dec, then sc x5 (11). Fasten off the yarn and leave a tail for sewing.
Flip the stocking inside out, lay the stocking flat and sew the flat outer edge closed. This will close the heel and leave the top of the stocking open. Weave in any ends when you are finished.
Round 20: Rejoin your yarn anywhere on the top edge of the stocking and sc x24 for this round. You should work 12 sc in the unworked part of round 13, and then 6 sc on each side of the heel.
Round 21- 30: Sc in every stitch (24). Fasten off the red yarn and join the white fuzzy yarn.
Round 31: Keeping your stitches tight, sc x24 in the white fuzzy yarn. Keeping the stitches tight will keep the top from becoming wavy. Fasten off your yarn and weave in any ends.
