• For this cute crochet acorn bag pattern, we will be working in the round.

Acorn Bag:

• Round 1: With the dove colored yarn. Make a mr and then sc x6 into the ring (6). Pull tight.
• Round 2: Inc in every stitch (12).
• Round 3: Sc in every stitch (12).
• Round 4: Inc, sc. Then repeat for the rest of the round (18).
• Round 5: Inc, sc x2. Then repeat for the rest of the round (24).
• Round 6: Inc, sc x3. Then repeat for the rest of the round (30).
• Round 7: Inc, sc x4. Then repeat for the rest of the round (36).
• Round 8: Inc, sc x5. Then repeat for the rest of the round (42).
• Round 9: Inc, sc x6. Then repeat for the rest of the round (48).
• Round 10: Sc in every stitch (48).
• Round 11: Inc, sc x7. Then repeat for the rest of the round (54).
• Round 12: Sc in every stitch (54).
• Round 13: Inc, sc x8. Then repeat for the rest of the round (60).
• Round 14: Sc in every stitch (60)
• Round 15: Inc, sc x9. Then repeat for the rest of the round (66).
• Round 16-30: Sc in every stitch (66).
• Round 31: Dec, sc x9. Then repeat for the rest of the round (60).
• Round 32-33: Sc in every stitch (60).
• Round 34: Dec, sc x8. Then repeat for the rest of the round (54).
• Round 35-36: Sl st in every stitch (54). Fasten off and weave in the tail.

Acorn Top:

• Round 1: Using the brown yarn, make a mr and sc x6 into it. Then join the 1st stitch to the last with a slip stitch (6).
• Round 2: Inc in every stitch. Then join the 1st stitch to the last with a slip stitch (12).
• Round 3: Sc in the same stitch as the join, then make a bobble stitch in the NEXT stitch. Then make a sc in the following stitch.
• *A bobble stitch is made by yarning over, inserting the hook into the stitch, yarn over, draw loop back through stitch, yarn over pull through 2 loops then STOP. You will have a half completed dc hanging from your hook. Repeat the steps 3 more times until you have 4 half completed dc stitches hanging from your hook and 5 loops ON your hook. Then yarn over and pull through all 5 loops.*
• Keep repeating and alternating sc and bobble stitches for the rest of the round (12). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
• You should have 6 bobble stitches.
• Round 4: This round is just single crochets, we need to create some distance in between bobble rows so they won’t be too constricted.
• Inc in every stitch (24). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
• Round 5: Sc in the same stitch as the join, then make a bobble stitch in the NEXT stitch. Then make a sc in the following stitch.
• Keep repeating and alternating sc and bobble stitches for the rest of the round (24). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
• You should have 12 bobble stitches.
• Round 6: Inc, sc, then repeat for the rest of the round (36). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
• Round 7: Repeat round 5, but you’ll end up with 6 more bobbles than the last round (36). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
• Round 8: Inc, ch x2 + skip x2 stitches. Then inc, sc x2 and repeat for a total of 5 times. Inc, ch x2 + skip x2 stitches. Then inc, sc x2 and repeat for a total of 5 times. Slip stitch to the first sc in the round (48).
• Round 9: You want to make this bobble round like you did before but in the ch x2 spaces make a sc and bobble stitch. You should have a small little slit made for the strap to feed through (48).
• Round 10: Inc, sc x3, then repeat for the rest of the round (60). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
• Round 11: Repeat round 5 (60). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
• Round 12: Sc for every stitch in the round (60). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.

  Round 13: Repeat round 5 (60). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
• Round 14: Dec, sc x8, Then repeat for the rest of the round (54). You only lose 6 stitches this round, not 12!! Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
• Round 15: Repeat round 5 (54). Then sl st to the first sc in the round.
• Round 16: This next round you want to flip your work. The bobbles should be facing right side out.
• Ch x1 and then make a crab stitch (reverse single crochet). Continue to make crab stitches for the entire edge of the rim. This thickens the rim so it holds its shape better - if you can’t seem to do the crab stitch you can do a normal round of sc but the rim won’t be as thick.

Acorn Stem:

• Round 1: Using the brown yarn, make a mr and sc x6 into it. Then join the 1st stitch to the last with a slip stitch (6).
• Round 2: Inc in every stitch. Then join the 1st stitch to the last with a slip stitch (12).
• Round 3: Sc in every stitch in blo (12).
• Round 4: Dec, then sc x10 (11).
• Round 5: Dec, then sc x9 (10).
• Round 6: Dec, then sc x8 (9).
• Round 7: Dec, then sc x7 (8).
• Round 8: Sc in every stitch (8). Then fasten off but leave a tail for sewing. Sew and slightly stuff the stem to the middle of the acorn cap.

Bag Strap:

• Attach the green yarn to anywhere on the rim of the base of the acorn. Ch x175, cut the yarn with about 8 inches left, but then make sure that the loop at the end is not pulled tight. Instead slide on the acorn top through the hole and then back down through the other hole in the top. Then sl st the strap to the other side of the acorn bag. Weave in any ends.

Crochet Oak Leaf:

• Round 1: With the green yarn, ch x12. In the second ch from the hook make a sc. Sc x3 more times in the following 3 chains. Then hdc x4, dc x2, and dc x6 in the very last chain. Down the unworked side of the chain dc x2, hdc x4, sc x4. Sl st to the 1st sc you made in this round.
• Round 2: Hdc in the next stitch. Skip a stitch and dc x3 in the following stitch. Ch x3 and then sl st to the same stitch you made the dc’s in.
• (Then sl st to the next stitch, in the following make a sc, and then a hdc in the next. In 1 stitch: dc, tr x2, ch x4 and then sl st back to the same stitch.) Repeat what is in the parenthesis 1 more time.
• Then sl st to the next stitch. In the same stitch make a hdc, dc, and tr. In the next stitch: tr, dc, hdc, sl st
• (Then sl st to the next stitch, ch x4, trx2, dc in 1 stitch. In the following stitch make a hdc, and a sc in the next. Sl st in the next) Repeat what is in the parenthesis 1 more time. You are reversing what you did on the other side of the oak leaf.
• For the last little bit of the leaf: Sl st, ch x3, dc x3 into the same stitch where you made the sl st, hdc in the next stitch, sl st into the last stitch.
• For the oak leaf stem, ch 4 and then starting in the 2nd ch from the hook make a sl st. Sl st in the other 2 stitches. Fasten off the yarn and sew the leaf to the top of the acorn bag.
